I've always been
fascinated by decay, and often find it compellingly
beautiful. Beautiful in that decay is seemingly
unpredictable and random. Beautiful in that it doesn't seem
to follow any rules, and that challenges our attempts to
establish and maintain artificial order. Whenever man
strives to alter the natural order, nature immediately
starts, usually on a small scale, to destroy man's false
constructs, and return the environment to a natural state.
All too often we never pause to view this small world, and
see these beautiful and intricate palates that nature
creates during this process. While seeking to capture the
beauty of decay I also hope to challenge our conventional
conceptions of what is beautiful. All the images in this
project are unaltered macro abstracts of the random and
changing patterns that natures agent, decay, has created
during the advent of the deconstruction process.
